Patrolling with an enemy

The cold wind blowing in her face sent shivers down her spine. She knew she didn’t had to patroll but she did it anyway. She needed some time alone to think. She had thought a lot the last week, ever since that spell Willow did, the spell where she and Spike were going to get married, the spell that made her love Spike. Because it was the spells fault that she had loved him. At least thats what she kept telling herself.

Buffy walked up to the frontdoor of the small house. She actually didn’t know what she was doing there. there was no big baddies to tell Giles about. But one thing she was sure about was that the reason that she was there had nothing to do whit a certain bleached vampire. She knocked on the door taking a deep breathe. Why was she nervous? She’ve never been nervous when she was gonna see Giles before....NEVER. The door opened, but it wasn’t Giles who opened it. It was Spike. “Spike. Where’s Giles?” Buffy said, in what she hoped sounded as irritated as it was supposed to. “Hey, no need to get cheeky, slayer. He’s taking a shower” The bleached vampire said stepping aside so she could get inside. Buffy walked by Spike whitout as much as a look at his direction. She wanted to look at him, she wanted it so bad. She wanted to see those pretty cheekbones and that stupid but yet beautiful bleached hair. But she knew she shouldn’t, she can't feel that way about a vampire. She just cant, and especially not towards Spike. So she just kept pushing those thoughts deeper back in her mind.

She sat down on the couch waiting for Giles. And god she hoped that he could hurry just a little bit more. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t even realised that Spike had taken a seat next to her on the small couch. The way to small couch she though as she looked at Spike for the first time since she had got into the room. “So pet. Why do the old man get a honored visit by the slayer”
“wouldn’t you like to know” She said with a smirk on her lips. Spike joined her smirk with one of his own “that naughty huh?”
“God NO, your perv.”She said as she punshed him lightly across his arm, or at least as lightly as a slayer punch can be. “Okay, okay . I wont tell your friends about you and the watcher as long as you’re not doing it when I’m here” He said as he stood up avoiding another punch from the blond next to him. “You’re going down” She said as she also stood up and started to chase him around like a little mouse. But apperantly he was a fast mouse because she couldn’t get a hold of him. She chased him around the small livingroom some more before stopping for her breathe. He stopped as well and she seized her chance. She jumped on him causing them to fall ontop on each other. They stared into to each others eyes for one second. Then Spike started to tickle Buffy causing her to roll off of him. He kept tickle her as he wached her trying to speak “Stop *giggle* it, stop *giggle* it”.

“errrm, hi Buffy” A voice from behind them was heard. Spike immediately stoped his tickling and Buffy turned around to face her watcher who was standing in the door opening wearing nothing but a towel. “ehm, Hi Giles” she blurted out as she stood up. Spike did the same. Buffy’s cheeks was flushed up from the whole event. She looked at Spike, he looked just normal. Why’d he get to look normal. Why’d I have to look like a damn tomato when he can just look normal. Unfair. “Why’re you here Buffy? Have anything happened” the watcher said in a worried voice. “No, nothing have happened. I didn’t have anything to do so I thought that maybe you had some badies I could fight” She said in a cheery voice. Buffy actually want some work? The watcher thought surprised. “Actually when you say it, there’s this rumor that a xzeicox demon has came to Sunnydale. But...”
“Goodie, where does this thingie live” Buffy interrupted. “If you had let me finnish my sentence you would have known by now that I’m not gonna let you go after this demon by yourself. It’s a very dangerous demon and there’s no chance you could take it on your own” Giles said as a silence grew through the room. Buffy pouted a little but didn’t say anyting. Spike was the one to break the silence “I can go with you, slayer. I think I’m gonna die if I’ll stay one more minute here. Giles dont even let me watch passions.”
“That’s actually a good idea. you and Spike can take care of the demon and I can finaly get some peace.” Giles said with a smile smile across his lips. “Okay, lets go patroll then” Buffy said taking a look at Spike. Why did he had to say that. Even though she didn’t like to admit it she knew that the reason she’d wanted to patroll so badly was because she wanted her thoughts as far away from him as posible and that wasn’t gonna be that easey when he would be standing right next to her. Buffy and Spike walked out the door and started to walk towards the graveyard.
“You’re gonna be cold, pet” Spike said looking at Buffy who was only wearing a t-shirt. “No, I’m not. We live in sunnydale you know. You dont have to ware a duster to be warm” She replied. “k’ but don’t come to me whining when you’re freezing to death.”
“Belive me, I wont.” The petite blond said as they walked in to the graveyard. The awkward silence embraced them as they walked between graves and the need for any noice at all grew. Spike was the one to break the silence “So, how’s red ? Still all worked up to make it up to you guys for the spell?” Buffy froze at the mention of the spell. She actually prefered the awkward silence before this. “Yep, but she’s better. She’ finally starts to get over oz. Or at least as much over someone you loved with all your heart as you can get”
“Okay, that's good. You can tell her that I’ve forgiven her”He said as they walked in to a crypt. “Yeah, sure. But you was at least the one who was the least exposed” She said immediately regreting it when she saw Spikes cold and angry eyes staring into hers. “Least exposed? I had to kiss YOU didn’t I?” he almost screamed at her
”Yeah, but would you rather be a demon magnet or blind?”
“Hell yeah” Her heart sank at his words. She didn’t know why but it just did. She didn’t care that her mind kept telling her to shut up anymore. She just needed to say what she really felt. For once she needed to tell the truth to both herself and him. “Am I really that disgusting? was kissing me was really that terrible?” she screamed as the tears started to stream down her face. She had exposed her self enough already she wasn’t gonna give him the pleasure to see her break down as well. She ran out of the crypt but just as she got out she bounced into something big.She fell to the ground and before she had the chance to react the big demon in front of her had given her a kick in the face. She realised that this would have to be the demon that Giles had talked about and he had been right, she would never be able to take it on her own. She didn’t know what else to do then to call for him. “Spike” She shouted and just one second later he was running out of the crypt. He saw the big demon pounding on Buffy. And strangely enough he felt rage he never felt before. No one could do this to her, not to Buffy. His Buffy. He gave the demon a hard kick in the stomach giving Buffy enough time to get up. The demon hit Spike with a hard punch in the face. But before he had the chance to hit again Buffy gave him a hard kick in his back causing him to fall down on his knees. Spike was up on his feet and ready for revenge. He hit the demon over the face some times before breaking  it’s neck. “You' okay?” He said looking at Buffy. “I dont know. I really dont know”
“Buffy, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you or anything, I...”
“You didn’t hurt me....or well, you did. But that does’nt matter. I’m just stupid. I should never had said those things.” Buffy said looking down at the ground. “You’re not stupid....Since that spell I’ve kinda felt stuff. Stuff that I’m not supposed to feel. Kissing you lit something inside of me...and it scares me. I’m not supposed to like you, you’re the slayer and I’m a vampire. It does’nt work but yet it feels like we fit perfectly.”
“I know what you mean” Buffy said looking into his eyes. They weren't cold like they had been in the crypt. They were warm and welcoming. They were meant to be, she could just feel it. She walked closer to him and gave him a small kiss. “You're sure about this” He said when their lips partened.
“I'm terrified..but I have never been more sure about anything in my whole life.” She said smiling up at him before taking his hand in hers and walking out the graveyard. All the doubts were gone. The only thing that existed now was them. Their love will might not be accepted but it didn’t matter because they had each other and thats all they needed.

"Spike, I'm cold"
