Daiting possibilities

Chapter 1 : First Date

She couldn’t belive she was standing here again. This had happened way to many times - her comming for spikes help, and her paying him. It wasn’t like she was Bill Gates or anythingm, she did atually need her money herself. But time after time she came here with her problems...and money. She knocked on the door – she never just stormed in anymore, not since the time she found Spike completely naked standing in front of her. She had been to much in a shock to even move a muscle – so, there for the knocking.
Spike opened the door only clad in a towel – “well at least it’s better than naked” Buffy thought. She didn’t realise that she was actually starring at him until she heard him chuckle. She looked away and she could feel her cheeks flush up. “Damn it”
“Fancy my chest, pet?” okay, she could swear that her face was probably redder than a tomato by now. “No” She answered, walking into the crypt, trying to gather her sences.  “I need your help” He closed the door and fallowed her into the crypt. He walked over and gathered his clothes that were spread over the bed. “So, what does the slayer need me for this time?” Buffy turned around as he was on his way to drop the towel to get dressed, that supressed another chuckle from the him.
“A demon, it calls itself ghurghnaligross or something like that, or maybe it was buhurghnakilgross or mayb...” Buffy said, she had now turned around to face a fully dressed Spike “You mean a ghurghjulistoss !?” Spike interrupted. Buffy wasn’t really sure if that was a question or a statment “Yeah, that’s what I said” Spike chuckled again “thats not what you said, you said ghurgnaligross” He said with a grin “Okay, okay I didn’t say ghurgjulliposs” Spike smirk grew even wider and he thought about correcting her once more , but didn’t, he of all poeple knew how bad tempered she was.
“Well, this demon has settled in sunnydale and oviously it thinks that killing little children are fun....” She started “That’s not so strange, they’re always the ones who screams the most.” The bleached vampire interrupted once more “SPIKE... I don’t even wanna know how you know that...even though I probably do, but that’s not the point, just let me finnish, okay?” Spike simply nodded and she continued “Well, as I said this demon has decided settled in Sunnydale as every other evil fiends in the world and I need your help to kill it, I would bring Xander and Willow but I’m afraid they’d get hurt” Spike practically jumped up from the bed, which he’d been sitting on “yup, you bloody well do. These things are huge, it would break Xanders neck before he could say ‘I’m a dumb salyer-wannabe’.....Lets bring Xander.” Buffy stared at him with disgust “I will not bring Xander so you can have him killed” Spike sighed before saying “Oh come on. He will be fine, I ‘promise’ you” Buffy just kept starring at him “I don’t trust your promises, they look very much like lies. But can we get back to the real deal here. Are you gonna help me or not?”
“yeah, but it have it’s price” and here it comes, the Buffy-loses-all-her-money-part “I’m fully aware of your cheapiness by now. How much?” 'Now, that have to be the widest smirk I’ve ever seen' Buffy thought. “No money...you’ll have to...go on a date with me” Okay, this was strange, did Spike just ask her out on a date? “A what?” she blurted out still in shock. “You heard me, luv. A date.” Buffy would gladly just give him every penny she had right now if she could just get out of this very awkward situation. “Okay” She said in a much more calm voice than she’d expected, it wasn’t like she would fallow through with it anyways. She would just let him help her kill the demon and then she would just ignore the whole deal, yeah, that sounded like a good idea. “you’re serious? I need proof for this” Spike said as he started to look for something. Finnaly he found it, it was a old pergament and a pen. He wrote something on it and then went back to Buffy with the pergament and the pen in his hand “here sign this” he said as he gave her the pergament. Buffy read the paper ‘I, Buffy Anne Summers promise to go on a date with Spike (William the bloody)’ with big letters, and in the corner it said with smaller letters 'signature'. Spike handed Buffy the pen and she looked at him strangely. She figured that there was no idea arguing with him, she knew how bad-tempered he was, so she she took the pen and wrote her signature. When the pen left the pergament she thought she saw the letters of her name glow, but she figured it was just her mind playing tricks. But was it?

“I’m all covered in slime” Buffy pouted. “Yeah I can see that” Spike smirked at her.
”Why didn’t you tell me I was gonna get all covered in slime? It’s your fault” Spike just chuckled. She was just too adorable when she pouted like that. “So it’s my fault is it? I tried to tell you not to pull out your axe again after you’d placed in the demons belly, but did you listen?” Buffy didn’t seem to have any reply to that. It was quiet a few minutes “But I’m still all covered in slime.” And there it was again, that adorable pout. They continued walking home from the graveyard – yeah, it was there they’d found the demon, surprising huh? – The rest of the walk was made in silence. When they got to the summers resident Buffy said good night and started towards her front porch. Just as she was gonna walk through the door she heard Spike starting to talk. “don’t forget about the date, pet” he said before walking away.

Spike didn’t know why he felt like this. He had felt this way for weeks now and his feelings just grew stronger. His feelings for Buffy that is. It was something about her that made him feel alive and free. When he was around her it was like the world was gone and it was just the two of them left. She didn’t feel the same about him, and he knew it. But he got this date, one chance when he could actually prove what she mean to him in a none-slayage way. And maybe, just maybe she'd realise that he wasn’t that bad after all. Maybe she could learn to love him or at least like him.

It was saturday and Buffy hadn’t talked to Spike since monday, or so much as seen him. Not that she was worried. NO, she definitely wasn’t. She continued her patrolling through the cemetary. It was suspiciously calm this night. She hadn’t even met one vampire so far. But she continued her patrolling. It was her duty to do so.
Suddenly she heard footsteps from behind. She took a tighter grip around her stake and turned around and kicked the vampire in the stomach. “Ow, take it easy, slayer” Spike said sitting on the ground with his arms wrapped around his stomach. Buffy sighed “What are you doing here Spike?” Spike got up from the ground, and took something out from under his duster. He had apparently held it there the whole time. Buffy looked intensly at what it was he was taking out from the duster. He took out a beautiful bouquet of flowers. FLOWERS. Spike had actually bought her flowers. Why? Then it all came back to her, the date. He actually thought she would go out with him. “Oh, come on. They’re not poisonous” Spike said, still holding the flowers to her. She took the bouquet . It was the most wonderfull mixture of flowers she had ever seen.
“Spike, I don’t know what to...Thank you... They’re beautiful. But why are they? I mean why do you give them to me?” Spike smiled. “Well, it’s traditional for the guys to bring flowers on the first date.” That was really sweet of him, she would’ve never have though of Spike to be the kind of guy to bring someone flowers. “Date?” Buffy said , trying to sound oblivion. She really didn’t need to ask that. She knew exactly what he meant. But the thing she didn’t know was if she wanted to go on this date or not. “Yeah, date, rember? You even wrote your signature on a paper where it said that you would.” Buffy gave him a small smile “ yeah I remember, I just didn’t thought you were being serious. I never thought a vampire would wanna go on a date with a slayer.” Why couldn’t she just say that she didn’t wanted to go “maybe ‘cause you do” . She was so confused.
“Well, this vampire wants to. So you wanna have our date in a resturant or is the cemetary your regular dating-place?” Buffy giggled. Spike always knew how to make her laugh. Even though the things he said might be boring to others it wasn’t to her, And he knew it.
“Even though I love cementaries I prefer a reasturant more. Shall we go” Okay, now the choice was made, there was no way she could get out of this now.
That went much smoother than Spike had expected. He’d never thought she would just agree to go on a date with him like that.

“this is nice” Buffy said as she took a look around the resturant spike had chosen.
“I hoped you’d like it, It’s not really where I usual go, considering I don’t eat solid food. But hey, what doesn’t a man do for a woman” He said.
“Vampire” Buffy corrected. Spike was about to protest when the waiter appeared at their table.
“would you like to order” The young man said looking from Spike to Buffy.
“Yes, we would” Buffy said “I’d like a sallad”
“A sallad?” Spike interrupted “you need more than that. No wonder your so skinny. Bring us some kind of big meat and two bears” The waiter just stared at Spike before walking back to the kitchen.
“what you do that for? Maybe I wanted a sallad?” Buffy pouted. She knew that pouting would always make Spike say I’m sorry. She didin’t know why, but she liked to have that kind of controll over him. She wasn’t really angry over the sallad at all, she had actually been happy that he thought she was too skinny. The last guys she met’d all told her she needed to loose wieght. She felt like spike really cared for her and liked her for who she was.
“I’m sorry. But I still think that you’re to skinny. We’re on a resturant and you wanted to order a sallad.” Spike said.
Buffy didn’t know what else to say. So she decided to say nothing.

The dinner went just like Spike had planned it if not even better. He had actually expected that there would be some fighting. but everything just went on smoothly, they laughed and enjoyed each others company.
Buffy and Spike was walking through the cementary. They’d decided to take a sweap to see if any vamps were out before going home.
They found a gang of five vampires talking at the east side of the cementary. They sneaked up upon them and within ten seconds they where all dust.
Buffy and Spike decided that that was enough for the night and started to walk towards the Summers recident.
“so, I guess I’ll go in now” Buffy said as they where standing on the front porch to the house.
      “Yeah, I guess” Spike replied
“ I had a great time. The resturant was nice, you know”
      “Yeah, it was. Well, bye”
“Bye” Buffy said and opened the front door.

Buffy lied awake the whole night thinking about the date and her feelings. This was a new territory for her. Sure she had daited vampires before, or at least one. But Angel never took her out on resturants, Angel never made her feel this way. She didn’t know exactly what it was she was feeling, and she wasn’t even sure if she wanted to know. God, she didn’t even know if the feelling was good or bad, but she wanted it too last.
It was Spike after all, the vampire who’d tried to kill her so many times but also the vampire who’ve saved her just as many. He’d changed, he’s not the vampire she first met, he’s so much more. But was exactly is that “so much more”? a co-worker, a friend, a lover?
